Warr double helps Tows secure bonus point win

Towcestrians continued their unbeaten start to this first season back in the National leagues in the same vein as the previous 2 weeks, taking the game to the visitors and playing at a high tempo, execution early on let the Tows down, going behind 0 - 3 after a handling error led to penalty

The Tows soon bounced back, and following a line out drive from a penalty, Kieran Frost broke free from the maul and crashed over, Matt Yuill narrowly missing the conversion, Yuill attoned shortly after with a penalty following a yellow card to Bees tight head prop, Foreman.

Tows failed to collect the kick off and allowed Bees no.10, Max Rodman, with the chance to drop a goal and close the gap to 8 - 6, Tows again turned the screw and No.8, Jamie Warr, claimed the first of his double, going in under the posts, converted by Yuill, Tows led 15 - 6 at the break.

The second half opened with the visitors best move of the match, Rodman ghosting through a gap to feed winger, Dan Barrett, who scored in the corner and the match was back in the balance at 15 - 11, both sides found difficulty in collecting restart ball, and with the Tows using the kicking game and intensity in defense to their advantage, pinned the Bees in their 22, that pressing eventually leading to a second penalty for Yuill

With just one score between the teams the decisive moment came from Man of the Match, Warr, who broke free down the right hand touchline and went over in the corner.

The visitors, now searching to get something out the game, spread the ball wide and only a fine cover tackle from centre, Will Dunkley, stopped a certain score, he followed this up with a crunching tackle on his opposing number to epitomise the Tows defensive efforts, Bees frustration led to a second yellow card and in the closing moments Tows pack turned the screw from a scrum and gained the all important bonus point penalty try.

After the game Attack Coach, Marc Yeates, commented "The whole squad played their part and we thoroughly deserved the win, I thought our back row was exceptional today and our midfield looked rock solid, we know we can and will have to improve but as a coaching team we are really pleased with this performance and the start to the season, everyone is doing a great job and working really hard and we must maintain that work ethic"

Next week both the 1st XV and 2nd XV travel away together to Old Halesonians
