In this re-arranged League fixture, Towcestrians travelled to Shropshire, and with a mounting injury list were forced into making 5 changes from the previous week to take on a team just below them in the League, played in the delightful setting alongside the River Severn in the old town.
Towcestrians started the brighter, running the ball to create pressure on the home sides line, Craig Holton forcing his way over from a 5 metre scrum, Ben Roe adding the extras from the touch, Tows then succumbed to the new high tackle laws and were reduced to 13 men with both Liam Wilkinson and Dave Stocks shown yellow cards, allowing Bridgnorth to spread the play and stretch the Tows defence, unable to cover the numbers Tows conceded a try when Bridgnorth winger found space to score, the try unconverted, a yellow card to Bridgnorth towards the end of the half saw Ben Roe convert a penalty attempt to stretch the lead to 5 - 10 at half time.
The 2nd Half territory belonged to the home outfit, Tows struggling to get out of their own half for most of it, but missed penalties and wrong options combined with Tows committed and resolute defence restricted Bridgnorth to a penalty score, Tows holding on for the narrow victory, taking 4 much needed points and a celebratory mood onto the long bus journey home
The win moves Tows to joint 6th, but just 8 points separate 6th to 12th place in this highly contested league
