Towcestrians Girls X7s tournament returned this Sunday. 8 clubs across 3 age groups.

After losing the tournament last season due to Covid, Towcestrians X7s was back with a bang.
Teams from across the East Midlands and a touring team from Dorking woke up to the hottest day since July.
Under a burning sun all 3 age groups fielded full sides, even though there were plenty of players missing due to holidays or isolation.
For the U13s this was their first ever competitive matches, their Coaches Simon Cave and Maddie Warren also getting their first referring experience. All the hard work that had been put in over the summer paid off as we had lots of players scoring their first tries and getting in their first tackles in anger.
Kelly Gell and Stephen Hodges had similarly been preparing their players well for this. The U15s played 4 full 14 min games coming 4th out of the 8 teams.
The U18s short on numbers and coaches due mainly Covid isolation, blooded 2 new players that had been to 7 training sessions between them, both had exceptional first games. With the hard ground and intensity of the matches taking its toll, the U18s coaches called it a day after the pool stages as lots of the players are involved in Centre of Excellence trials a week Wednesday.
An overall success 200 players back on the pitches and a busy bar and lots of promises from everyone to return next season.
