Towcestrians First XV Coach, Darren Snook, hailed his squad after they produced a superb bonus point win at home to Windsor on Saturday, concerned that the recent run of high pressure league games, coupled with games in both local cups may have fatigued his team the ex-captain turned coach was delighted with the continuity and power the Tows showed, "it was a great game to watch, we were strong in all areas, the best we've played this season"
Tows started quickly with Matt Yuill crossing after his fellow wing Alex Chalcraft had done the spade work, James Falvey adding the extras, feasting on Windsor mistakes Tows ran back a turnover, scrum half Murray Aitchison dancing down the touchline to score in the corner, quick interpassing carved open the visitors soon after only for the final pass to be knocked-on, but normal service was resumed, Falvey finishing a passing movement, with Tows now rampant, Craig Holton put the final touch to another sweeping move, for Tows to turn around with the wind and a 22pt lead.
After looking to run away the game Tows got held back by Windsors stubborn defence and some of their own handling errors, Chalcraft eventually breaking the deadlock with a score, Tows dominated the set piece but were frustrated by the visitors who cleared well from the back of a retreating scrum, Tows finished in style with big Ben Roe going over and Yuill adding a second to make the scoreline 39 -0 and highlight the dominance that Tows had enjoyed all day
Next week is non league weekend and gives Tows a chance to rest some players, although on this form and a 14 point lead at the top of the league the remaining 6 games cant come quickly enough
Tows 2nds travelled to Rugby Lions and recording an 8 -73 victory, while the 3rds narrowly lost out to a strong Bedford Ath 2nd XV, the Colts collected a 0 - 19 victory at Rushden & Higham
